Struggling to Surrender

An Islamic View of Jesus – One Misconception Explored

21 02 2008

wordpress_man_reading_koran.gif          It is a debate that has raged in the soul’s of men for over 1400 years.  The west is undoubtedly scarred with the notion that all people of Islamic faith believe that Jesus was unimportant. . . . simply a gifted orator.  Not true!  In fact, the Muslim may understand the legacy of Christ better than most Christians.  Take a look at the Koran and you will find that it dedicates an entire Surah (or book) to his mother Mary.  Her name is mentioned more times in it than in any other literature on Earth [including the Bible].

Muslims hold Jesus in high regard as a teacher, yes a talented orator, and even a performer of miracles.  They acknowledge his virgin birth and his role as usher for the Last Day of Judgement.  What they do not agree on is the notion that he is a trinity and quasi-God.  How can God be part of man, and man part of God, if God says he has no partners?
